Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
1. Why do we train?
Forklift training is a legal requirement under the Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations (PUWER) 1998, which mandates that only adequately trained personnel operate work equipment safely. Additionally, the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 (HSAWA) places a duty on employers to ensure the health, safety, and welfare of employees, including providing proper training to minimize risks in the workplace.
2. What do we need to provide for on-site training?
You will need to provide the forklift, some empty pallets for practicing and a classroom space for the theory side of the training.
3. How often we need to undertake refreshers?
At least every 3-5 years or sooner if you had an accident.
